Andrew graduated in 1983 with a law degree from Melbourne University. He was admitted to legal practice very soon after. He completed his secondary schooling at St Albans High School.

Andrew has represented many clients who have been injured or traumatised through workplace injuries and road accidents. He practises exclusively in WorkCover, TAC and Public Liability claims.

Andrew continues to successfully represent clients in WorkCover, TAC and Public Liability cases. He is a strong supporter of the rights of the injured person to receive fair compensation. He believes his popularity and success as a lawyer over 30 years is due to delivering exceptional personal service to his clients by providing them with a “one on one” experience, lacking in other law firms which can make one feel like a number only.

Andrew has a friendly and approachable manner. He truly values his clients and regards them as an integral part of his past and ongoing success. His past clients continue to be a major referral source.

Outside his law practice, Andrew spends time with his family, enjoys playing tennis and relaxing.

I put my life in the hands of Andrew Ellis when I was at my most vulnerable, after a workplace injury. It was the best decision I ever made.
Professional, personable and never treated like a number. Knowledge and service second to none. Happily I highly recommend them, you won't be sorry.

I want to personally thank Andrew and his wonderful team for the support and care they gave me in the past 2 years. Your team kept me updated throughout the process and alleviated the stress and anxiety for me at such a stressful time in my life.

Andrew and the team are fantastic. Up front and always willing to answer any questions no matter how big or small. They see you as a person not a number. Would highly recommend and use again.

I was diagnosed with a work related disease that affected my respiratory system. I contacted Jim Palmos to see if I could claim Workcover compensation. Settlement of the claim was made before entering the court hearing. I am very happy with my settlement. I thoroughly and highly recommend Jim and his team at Ellis Palmos Lawyers. Jim did an excellent job on a most difficult case and thought outside the square in a very professional manner. Well done to everyone at Ellis Palmos.

Gregory J Marriner, December 2020

I have been a client of Jim’s for the past 2 years. Jim has gone over and above what I expected. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending Jim as he knows the law and understands the emotional stress that comes with a claim.

I required the services of a Personal Injury lawyer after being involved in a fatal train crash in April 2006. Jim was recommended to me by a work colleague who had used Jim’s services previously. Nothing was too much trouble and Jim would always answer all our questions, no matter how trivial. He took time out of his day to come to our home (which was 90 minutes away from his office) when I wasn’t able to commute to Melbourne. Jim made the process much easier than I thought it would be. I would highly recommend Jim to anyone requiring the services of a Personal Injury Lawyer.

Jim, I can’t thank you enough.

Alison - November 2021

I suffered a workplace injury that unfortunately was not ever able to fully heal. During this time I suffered incredible pressure from both my workplace and the insurance company which caused my mental health to greatly decline under the constant stress. Immediately after contacting Jim I had nothing but support and guidance for my case and a genuine care about my personal wellbeing. Any issue and email was always answered and attended too. Thanks to his support and expertise he achieved a win for my workplace injury case and on behalf of myself and my family we can’t thank him and his team enough!

Ben, November 2021

Jim, there are no words to adequately say thank you for your work, support, compassion and care throughout this process.
I truly do appreciate everything you’ve done.

Natalie, December 2022

Hi Jim, again a massive thanks to you for all you have done during this long process! You were always positive of a good outcome from all of this and that made all the difference along the way. I will forever appreciate your time and dedication.

Andrew was admitted to legal practice in 2016 and has worked exclusively in personal injury litigation ever since.

Andrew represents clients from diverse backgrounds in WorkCover and motor vehicle accident claims in all Victorian courts.

Andrew prides himself on clear and concise communication to advise his clients on the merits of their case and their potential entitlements.

Andrew is proud of many successful outcomes he has achieved for his clients over the years, but he is particularly proud of:

· Achieving many substantial damages settlements in both the Supreme Court and County Court;
· Succeeding in a very complex WorkCover Serious Injury Application in the County Court (and ultimately obtaining common law damages) for an injured client who had been advised by prior lawyers not to proceed with their case;
· Achieving a successful judgment in the Magistrates’ Court when acting for a client with a rejected psychiatric injury claim after a lengthy contested hearing; and
· The successful challenge of a Medical Panel Opinion in the Supreme Court resulting in lump sum compensation being paid to his client.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys tennis, soccer and cooking.
